Projects
This site specific window installation, 'Seeing it through' was created for one of the historic factory windows at Swipe Design as part of the DesignTO Festival in 2024. It was visible in one of their north-facing windows in the renowned 401 Richmond Building in January and February.

Wooden panels were cut and painted to look like folded paper chains in order to connect a group of small collaged scenes. The ‘paper chains’ are flat and only look three dimensional from a distance. As well, the collages are made up of disparate fragments of printed pictures that only look like photos of real places.

In addition, the installation is visible from both sides of the window, inside and out. What you see will depend on which side of the window you are on.

From the inside, the images in the panels are landscapes and buildings, and from the outside, the images that you can see in the panels are rooms and other interior shots. The collages themselves have become little windows.

Chiyogami Design Competition

In 2020, at the start of the pandemic, I entered a Chiyogami Design contest at the Japanese Paper Place.

This design won the competition.

The parameters were to design a repeating pattern that would be silk screened by hand in Japan. The design had to feature two colours and one metallic colour. I chose silver for the metallic colour hoping that the shimmer would make it disappear in some lights and add more complexity to the overall pattern.

This particular chiyogami paper is available for purchase at the Japanese Paper Place through their online store.

river song commission

''river song' digital rendering of final piece
'river song' was created for a client who loves Dr. Who. They saw my work at my first exhibition of 'putting things together' and wanted a similarly themed piece to carry them up and down a staircase, like a river flowing in two directions.

The wall colour had already been chosen and the images in the piece were made to fit their environment.
